Released in 2020, Tarot of Mystical Moments is the latest deck by artist Catrin Welz-Stein and features her signature collage style art with images drawn from her imagination and intuition. This 83 card deck is unique in that there is a distinctively feminine point of view, with the five additional cards being female versions of the Kings and the Emperor. Therefore, when doing a reading, you can choose whether your Kings and the Emperor will be male or female.
The artwork on this deck is stunning, with a delightful blend of nostalgia and surrealism. The characters in this deck are from another time--some appearing to be Victorian while others dressed for the Edwardian and Art Deco periods. The art continues the tradition of other great surrealists, namely René Magritte, with the nostalgic elements of this deck matching the height of the early 20th century surrealism movement. All in all, it's a charming and aesthetically pleasing deck that will feel instantly familiar.
